Dr Soma Farag
People and Partnerships Team Member

Dr Farag is a Core Surgical Trainee in Plastic Surgery based in Oxford. She completed her medical degree at Imperial College London, followed by working as an academic foundation doctor in Oxford which allowed her to explore her research interests and present her work internationally.
Her interest in skin physiology and the management of scarring in skin of colour was sparked during her time working in a regional burns unit, where she worked within the multidisciplinary scar team. This experience led her to join the Skin of Colour Training UK committee to help promote inclusive education and greater awareness of dermatological conditions. As part of the People and Partnerships team, she is committed to bridging the knowledge gap between medical and non-medical communities to support the delivery of equitable and appropriate skin care.
Dr Farag has a long-standing interest in teaching and is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical and Healthcare Education at Anglia Ruskin University to further develop her skills as an educator.
Outside of her clinical and academic work, she enjoys beading, jewellery making, travelling, and yoga.
